At the 6 Self Financing centres under the Department: School of Management Studies,Thrissur (40 seats), School of Management Studies, Thiroor,Thrissur (40 seats), School of Management Studies, Palakkad (40 seats), School of Management Studies, Kuttippuram (40 seats), School of Management Studies, Calicut (40 seats ), School of Management Studies, Vatakara (40 seats). Applications are also invited for the Part-time MBA (Evening programme - Self Financing - 4 semesters) 30 seats each at Calicut, Palakkad and Thrissur. If sufficient candidates do not prefer any of the centres for the MBA evening programme, the programme will not be offered at that centre.
Applications are also invited for admission to the merit seats of the MBA. The candidates under this notification will be considered only after considering the eligible candidates with valid CMAT score as per the notification dated 08.04.2015.
CUMAT 2015 Eligibility Criteria
Any degree of the University of Calicut (Including degree Programmes of the SDE/Open Degree programme of SDE, University of Calicut)or that of any other University or Institute or Institution recognized by the UGC or AICTE. Programmes of other Universities or Institutions shall be in 10+2+3 pattern (or 10+2+4) under regular stream. In all the cases, the student should have passed the bachelor degree examination with not less than 50% marks in aggregate, including the marks of the languages, if any. OBC and SC/ST students are allowed relaxation in marks as per rules (i.e.5% relaxation for OBC & Other Eligible Communities and a mere pass for SC/ST).
Two years’ work experience is required for MBA evening programme in addition to the other requirements. In the absence of adequate number of applicants with two year’s experience, others would also be considered.
Candidates awaiting their degree results may also apply. They should produce the original marklist of the qualifying examination before the last date of closure of admission to MBA Programme. However, original Plus Two/Pre-degree mark list should be produced for verification at the time of Personal Interview and Group Discussion.
CUMAT 2015 Application Process
1. Applications can be submitted online for CUMAT Entrance examination 2015 from 13.05.2015 to 28.05.2015, midnight through the website www.universityofcalicut.info ((Please see the link 'Instant Web payment System'-CUIWPS for remitting fee and submitting online application) or through www.cuonline@uoc.ac.in (see the link 'fee remittance').The entrance examination fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.167/- for SC/ST) shall be remitted to Calicut University Funds by SBT online/SBT E- Chalan/friends/Akshaya E-Chalan.
2. The candidates shall send the print out of their applications along with the chalan receipt of Rs.500/ (Rs.167/- for SC/ST students, if community certificate is submitted) and a self addressed Rs.5/- stamped envelope (26cmx15cm) directly to ‘The Head, Department of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Calicut, Malappuram 673 635’ so as to reach the same on or before 30.05.2015. Do not attach any testimonials / copies of testimonials (For SC/ST candidates, community certificate should be submitted)
3.The candidates must mention the online registration ID Number in all future communications.
4.Those who have already applied for MBA admission as per the notification dated 08.04.2015 but could not produce a valid CMAT score need not apply again.
5.The candidates shall update themselves with the University website www.universityof calicut.info/www.cuonline.ac.in and the University Press release for knowing the latest information relating to entrance exam,Counselling, admission etc.

CUMAT 2015 Selection Process
Selection is based on the score obtained in the entrance test (CUMAT) conducted by the University.
Weightage awarded for Plus Two / Pre-degree marks and the scores obtained by the candidates in Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
CUMAT Exam Syllabus
CUMAT Exam will consist of 120 questions from the following subjects/topics.
i. General Awareness
Characteristics of Indian economy, basic economic indicators, industrial, trade, fiscal, budgetary and monetary policies, Indian banking system and its functioning, awareness about corporate sector, Indian and international trade, economic agreements, changes in political, technological and cultural environments.
ii. Numerical ability and Data interpretation
Elementary Arithmetic - percentage, ratio, proportion time and distance, relative speed, time and work, interest, stocks, shares and discount, rules of divisibility, HCF and LCM, power, exponents and roots; Elementary algebra - algebraic equations; Elementary geometry - angle, line, polygon, solids, cylinders, perimeter, volume, circles, tangent to circle, sphere, etc.; linear and quadratic equations; Basics of trigonometry and coordinate geometry.
Sets - Union and intersection; frequency and class intervals, cumulative frequencies, and various types of graphic diagrams used in interpretation; Basic of probability; and Permutation and combination.
iii. Comprehension and
Comprehension at paragraph and sentence level, identification of mistakes; grammar and usage; Vocabulary -word formation, synonyms, antonyms, pairing of words, analogies, sentence structure and construction, active and passive voice, prepositions, completion of sentences, etc.
iv. Verbal ability
This may include verbal reasoning and verbal analogy, letter series, number series, coding and decoding, logical diagrams, and syllogism, etc.
